PR No. 217 CRACK DOWN AGAINST ILLEGAL UNREGISTERED DRUGS BY DRAP UNVEILS VESTED INTEREST BEHIND MALICIOUS CAMPAIGN AGAINST REGULATORS Islamabad: 29th September 2017

A team of Drug Inspectors of DRAP raided a distributor namely M/s Madina medicine Co. Multan, on information for selling unregistered/ spurious drugs. Unregistered drugs by the name, Leena Tablets, manufactured by M/s Everest Pharma, Islamabad were recovered.

          The drugs were seized and premises was sealed, due to storage and sale of unregistered drugs. In another raid a banned sex drug has been recovered from pharma distributors in Multan. Case has been registered and investigations have started to unearth the culprits involved in manufacturing and sale of unregistered, spurious and fake drugs.

          Government is continuing its drive against spurious drugs and illegal manufacturing and will not leave such heinous crimes against the public safety and interest unpunished. This raid has again exposed the mafia involved in such illegal crimes while trying to mislead and distract media, public and government institutions through various media, press releases and press conferences with the objective to blackmail DRAP and Ministry of National Health Services and pressurize them to withdraw cases against corruption of these elements.

          The Everest pharma is already in various litigation cases due to non compliance to be Rules under Drug Act 1976 and DRAP ACT 2012 and is owned by Ch Usman, claiming to be chairman of so called Young Pharmacist Association that runs media campaigns to protect him. This mafia shows total disrespect to law of land rather making mockery of the government institutions, Ch Usman threatens government officials claims to be brother in law of a DIG in Punjab and threatens regulators of dire consequences, insult and media trials.
