A team of Drug Inspectors of DRAP raided a
distributor namely M/s Madina medicine Co. Multan, on information for selling
unregistered/ spurious drugs. Unregistered drugs by the name, Leena Tablets,
manufactured by M/s Everest Pharma, Islamabad were recovered.
The
drugs were seized and premises was sealed, due to storage and sale of
unregistered drugs. In another raid a banned sex drug has been recovered from
pharma distributors in Multan. Case has been registered and investigations have
started to unearth the culprits involved in manufacturing and sale of
unregistered, spurious and fake drugs.
Government
is continuing its drive against spurious drugs and illegal manufacturing and
will not leave such heinous crimes against the public safety and interest
unpunished. This raid has again exposed the mafia involved in such illegal
crimes while trying to mislead and distract media, public and government
institutions through various media, press releases and press conferences with
the objective to blackmail DRAP and Ministry of National Health Services and
pressurize them to withdraw cases against corruption of these elements.
The Everest pharma is already in
various litigation cases due to non compliance to be Rules under Drug Act 1976
and DRAP ACT 2012 and is owned by Ch Usman, claiming to be chairman of so
called Young Pharmacist Association that runs media campaigns to protect him.
This mafia shows total disrespect to law of land rather making mockery of the
government institutions, Ch Usman threatens government officials claims to be
brother in law of a DIG in Punjab and threatens regulators of dire
consequences, insult and media trials.
