PR No. 216 Ambassador of Pakistan lauds Security and Defense cooperation between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Islamabad: 29th September 2017

Celebrating the 52nd Defense Day of Pakistan in the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh, Vice Admiral (retd) Khan Hasham Bin Saddique, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia praised excellent cooperation between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of security and defense cooperation. He thanked Saudi Arabia for standing by Pakistan “not just in the times of need but at all times” and hoped that the cooperation between the two countries will be further strengthened under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, says a press release received here today from Jeddah.

In his address on the occasion, the Ambassador highlighted the achievements of the Armed Forces of Pakistan in their successful defense of the country from conventional and unconventional threats. He singled out the successes of Pakistan’s security and law enforcement apparatus, backed by the people of Pakistan, in their fight against terrorism and extremism. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued efforts and commitment to the global fight against terrorism despite constraints.

Over the last few years, Pakistan has launched world’s largest military operations against terrorists killing and arresting thousands of them. As a result, there has been a five-fold decrease in terrorist attacks in the country and the lives lost in them. The event also showcased a short video highlighting the efforts and achievements of Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.

          The Ambassador was speaking at the reception organized by the Embassy of Pakistan hosted in commemoration of 6 September 1965, when the valiant armed forces of Pakistan successfully defended the country against foreign aggression. The reception was attended by senior Saudi officials in Riyadh, Ambassadors, diplomats, defense attaches and Pakistani luminaries in Riyadh.
