Federal Minister for human rights Kamran Michael has said India has committed the violations of human rights in Indian occupied Kashmir and urged the international community and international organizations to come forward against the violations of human rights and brutalities of India in Kashmir Valley. He said that the Government of Pakistan has taken many steps to ensure the human rights particularly the rights of the women and the minority.

 

He expressed these views while talking to the European Union diplomats in a gathering here in Islamabad on Tuesday. Besides, officials from ministry of foreign affairs, representatives of United Nations and donors agencies were also present on the occasion.

 

Minister briefed the diplomats about the prevailing law and order situation in the Indian Held Kashmir and violations of human rights in Kashmir Valley.

 

While talking to the diplomats, minister said we had rendered great sacrifices to curb the wave of militancy and terrorism and for the peace of entire region.  He said we have combat terrorism and now we are entering into the new phase of development and stability, he added. He said Concerted and effective efforts are being made by the Government to bring the improvement in all those areas where it is required. He said we fully support the Freedom movement of the people of IHK and asked the international community to take immediate and appropriate steps to redress the protracted grievances of Kashmiri people. Federal Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael has said that international community should come forward and raise its voice against the violation of human rights and atrocities of India in Occupied Kashmir. He said we fully support the Freedom movement of the people of IHK adding that we will continue our political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir. Minister said that Award of GSP Plus status shows the confidence of international markets in the excellent quality and standard of Pakistani products. The minister also highlighted the steps underway for ensuring the protection of human rights in Pakistan.

 

Diplomats appreciated the endeavors of government for the promotion and protection of human rights in Pakistan and assured their full support to resolve the issue of Kashmir.
