President Mamnoon Hussain has expressed hope that with the establishment of National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) there will be more progress in the field of health and more opportunities for acquiring medical education and conducting research.

The President said this while talking to a delegation of National University of Medical Sciences which headed by its Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. Syed Muhammad Imran Majeed called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Wednesday. On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor gave a detailed and comprehensive presentation to President Mamnoon Hussain with regard to future plans for further raising the level of academic excellence and the university’s endeavors to carve out a niche for itself in the realm of medical education.

The President emphasized that best standards and practices need to be ensured in the health sector.  The President underscored the need for providing incentives to the doctors to serve in the rural areas so that the people can have access to medical facilities.

President Mamnoon Hussain expressed his keen interest in promoting quality education which is accessible to all across the country. The President assured of his cooperation and support in the university’s future initiatives and efforts.
