Federal Ombudsman has taken historic unprecedented initiative in the history of Pakistan to start hearing of overseas Pakistanis complaints on Skype in ombudsman secretariat Islamabad, Pakistan. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar, Senior Advisor (Law)/Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis federal ombudsman said that the first time in the history of Pakistan ombudsman office has started hearing of complaints of overseas Pakistanis on Skype and in this regard a meeting was conducted on Skype with Pakistani Community welfare Attaché posted in New York USA and discussed various systemic issues of overseas Pakistanis and directions were issued for there resolutions . Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar Senior adviser and Grievance Commissioner for overseas Pakistanis said that new mechanism has been designed for hearing of overseas complaints on Skype and will soon be introduced in Pak missions of Saudi Arab, UAE,UK,Canada,Italy, Masqat,Spain ,Germany and other countries where Pak community welfare attaches have been posted. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar Senior Advisor Law and Grievance commissioner for overseas Pakistanis to federal ombudsman Pakistan that with introduction of present system the complaints of overseas Pakistanis will be resolved in minimum time and will also make bridge between the govt departments and overseas Pakistanis . He said regular hearing will be conducted in Ombudsman Islamabad from all these countries and relevant departments will be present during hearings for early resolution of overseas Pakistanis issues. Hafiz Ahsaan ahmad Khokhar senior adviser and Grievance commissioner for overseas Pakistanis to federal ombudsman said that ombudsman secretariat has already taken number of initiatives for overseas Pakistanis which include establishment of independent website , one window facilitation desks at international airports of Pakistan and resolution of systemic issues of NADRA and Passports and issuance of Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC) and increase of overseas Pakistanis workers insurance cover. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar Senior adviser and Grievance commissioner for overseas Pakistanis to Federal ombudsman Pakistan said that directions have been issued to OPF and Bureau of immigration to establish dedicated help line for overseas Pakistanis workers for their earlier resolution.
Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokhar Senior adviser and Grievance commissioner for overseas Pakistanis said that directions have been issued to Ministry of Finance to consider changes in the procedure regarding Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC) and allow issuance of card along with NICOP without any limit of remittance, which is now $2500 . He also said that State Bank of Pakistan has also been advised to issue instructions to all scheduled banks for opening “Asan Bank Account” of overseas Pakistanis workers. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad khokhar senior adviser and Grievance Commissioner for overseas Pakistanis to federal ombudsman Pakistan said that Bureau of immigration has been advised to setup protectorates process centers at airports . He said through these steps the issues of millions of overseas Pakistanis will be resolved on priority and will also create responsive attitude among the govt officials.
