Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain is on 05 days visit to Romania. He is accompanied by Maj Gen Tariq Ghafoor, Additional Secretary Ministry of Defence Production. He had a meeting with Mr. Neculai Banea, Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Mr. Constantin Croitoru, General Manager of ROMARM National Company, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Relations with the Business Environment.

         

Minister for Defence Production expressed his desire to further strengthen bilateral relations with Romanian defence industries. Minister emphasized on the need of regular interactions between the two countries. Minister also mentioned that there is a potential for Joint collaboration in defence production, which may be explored. Minister offered the products and services of Pakistan Defence Industries to Romania. He highlighted that Pakistan values strong bilateral relations with Romania.

 

Minister appreciated Romania’s support for Pakistan at various international fora. Minister also shared with host Pakistan’s commitment to combat terrorism, extremism and militancy. The sacrifices made by the people of Pakistan and its armed forces remain unparalleled. Our priority is relief and rehabilitation of the IDPs in their own areas and reconstruction of these areas. In this regard Romania may like to extend its cooperation.

 

The discussion was very fruitful. The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in different fields and to enhance ties between the two countries. Romanian minister thanked Pakistan’s minister for his visit to Romania and assured that Romania will continue cooperation with Pakistan and all efforts will be made to promote good relations further. The minister also extended invitation to Romanian delegation for IDEAS-2016 scheduled to be held in November 2016.
