PR No. 129 70th INDEPENDENCE DAY OF PAKISTAN CELEBRATIONS IN UAE Islamabad

Ceremonies of the Independence Day of Pakistan were held at the Consulate General of Pakistan Dubai with zeal and enthusiasm. Functions at the venues began with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, says a press release received here today from Dubai.

Independence Day ceremony was held at 0800 hours in the premises of Pakistan Consulate at Dubai. Acting Consul General Samar Javed hoisted the National Flag while the National Anthem was played. He read out the Messages of President and Prime Minister of Pakistan. A large number of UAE-based Pakistanis and local dignitaries including Mr. Sohail Zarooni attended the ceremony.

Extending warm felicitations on this occasion, Acting Consul General Samar Javed paid tribute to the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. He recounted the sacrifices of the people during freedom struggle as well as in the war against terror.

The Acting Consul General commended the Pakistani community for their contributions in the progress and development of the United Arab Emirates. He recalled the excellent fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE and stated that the two countries have always stood by each other through thick and thin. He expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership for their consistent support to the people of Pakistan.

Cake-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the Independence Day. Independence Day ceremony at Dubai concluded with prayers for progress, prosperity and solidarity of the country.
