Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrives in New York to participate in the 72nd UN General Assembly Session. The visit will focus on apprising the international community of Pakistan’s successes in pursuing its economic and development objectives, highlighting its commitment to peace and security in the region and interacting with global political leaders, media personalities and global business leaders, says a press release received here today from New York.

The Prime Minister will address the high level segment of the UN General Assembly on Thursday, 21st September 2017. In his policy statement, he will enunciate Pakistan’s position on key international issues including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He will inform the world body about Pakistan’s successes in the economic field and in fighting terrorism and extremism. The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will also address the Council on Foreign Relations besides interacting with Pakistan-US Business Council.
