PR No. 54 STATE MINISTER ENGR. MUHAMMAD BALIGH UR REHMAN MET WITH THE DELEGATION OF ITTEHAD TANZEEM UL MADARIS TODAY AT HIS OFFICE Islamabad

Basic agenda of the meeting was to discuss the mainstreaming of the madras’s in Pakistan.It was decided in the meeting that Ittehad Tanzeem ul Madaris would collectively adopt the syllabus of federal board of intermediate and secondary education for matriculations and Intermediate. Ministry of Federal Education and Professional training will endorse the establishment of the boards of Ittehad Tanzeem ul Madaris according to the already established structure of Intermediate and secondary boards. And it will be discussed in the cabinet for final approval. Until the boards are established, Ittehad Tanzeem ul Madaris would be working under the existing system in place, in which IBCC issues certificate of equivalence to the students of madras’s.

FBISE will provide capacity building trainings to the examiners, exams setters, papers’ checkers and markers of Ittehad Tanzeem ul Madaris according to their size.  Deeni taleemaat will be decided by the Ittehad tanzeem ul madaris themselves.

For Shahadah tul Aliya (Masters Degree) in Arabic and Islamic studies, madrassa student would have to give exams of compulsory subjects i.e. English, Islamiyat and Pak Studies in bachelors. For masters in other subjects, Madrassa students would have to give exams of compulsory subjects along with the two elective subjects of their choice in bachelors. For bachelors and master, already recognized syllabus from HEC and concerned universities will be taught to the madrassa students. Academic Calendar of HEC would be adjusted according to the academic calendar of Ittehad Tanzeemat ul Madaris (May and November). Fee concessions, financial aid, books and tutorial workshop will be provided by Allama Iqbal Open University to those students who give exams through AIOU. Ministry of Federal Education would suggest HEC for not taking the exam of Islamiyat compulsory as the students of madrassas extensively read this subject already. Moreover it was also discussed that for bachelors and masters degree, only the certificate of matriculations would be required from now onwards.

Meetings were attended by the Federal secretary Humanyon Khan, Additional Secretary Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik, Joint education Advisor Rafiq Tahir, Chairman Tanzem ul Madaris Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman, Maulana Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhry, Maulana Yasin Zafar, Dr, Attaur Rehman and Mualana Ghulam Baqir Najfi, Chairman FBISE Dr. Ikram Ali Malik, Muhammad Khan Khichi, Muhammad Raza Chauhan DG HEC, and other officials from HEC, FBISE, IBCC and Ministry of Federal education.
