PR No.299 BELGIAN AUDIENCE ENTHRALLED BY SUFI NIGHT ORGANIZED BY THE EMBASSY OF PAKISTAN BRUSSELS Islamabad: March 29, 2017

To celebrate the 70th year of Independence of Pakistan in befitting manner, the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels has commenced a series of events . In this connection a Sufi Night was organized by the Embassy on Tuesday in which world renowned  Qawwali group of  Ustad Ghulam Fariduddin Ayaz  and Abu Muhammad enthralled the audience with their scintillating performance, says a press release received here today from Brussels.

Large number of audience including representatives from Belgian and Pakistani communities and diplomats based in Brussels attended the event. In her introductory remarks Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and European Union Mrs Naghmana Hashmi highlighted the role of Sufis and saints in promoting the culture of tolerance and peace in the  Sub -continent . She said that genre of Qawwali played a big role in spreading this message of love, peace and harmony for centuries.

Ambassador Hashmi said that in the present times there was a need more than ever before to listen to  and understand the message of  tolerance which  instils the tradition of caring for human beings irrespective of cast, creed and  race.

Ustad Ghulam Fariduddin Ayaz  and Abu Muhammad  rendered   Qawwalis in praise of Allah, Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Hazrat Ali (RA) besides popular Dama Dam Mast Qalander and  Meri Pehchan Pakistan which made audience dance on the beat . In the end Dua was also offered for the peace and prosperity in Pakistan, for the Muslim Ummah and humanity all over the world.
