Prime Minister is keen to implement Green Pakistan program, Federal Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid

Federal minister for Climate Change Mr. Zahid Hamid held a meeting with the delegation of 6th ECO environmental meeting that is going on in Islamabad under the Environmental wing of Ministry of Climate Change.

The delegation was informed about the working and domain of Ministry .They was also told that government of Pakistan is keen to implement Green Pakistan Program.

“We are contributing 0.8% of total carbon emissions but most vulnerable country to climate effects. We lost more than 1200 people during last years as a result of heat wave issue. We had great economic and physical loss in 2010 floods. We are also water scarce country”, said by the Minister

‘The government of Pakistan is intending to plant 100 million trees under this Green Pakistan program project. We are paying attention to parks and wildlife as well.” said by the Federal Minister for Climate Change.

We are preparing specific climate Change policy to deal with all these issues.The delegation included participants from Iran, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, and Turkey.
