President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the cultivation of high quality fruits is necessary to increase the export of fruits.

The President said this while meeting with a delegation of All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Exporters, Importers & Merchants Association (PFVA) headed by the Chairman Mr. Waheed Ahmed at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Tuesday.

President Mamnoon said that exporters should increase their contact with Federal and Provincial Exporters associations in order to remove impediments in the way of imports and exports.

The President said that all stakeholders involved should give recommendations for plant protection of fruits and vegetables so that its implementation can be ensured. President Mamnoon assured the delegation that the issues of exporters will be resolved by the Government at each and every level. He added that traders associated with the fruits sector should train their human resource so that fruits for export can be packaged and secured according to international standards.

The President said that that the Government is committed to the development of agricultural sector and the trading community’s recommendations will help the Government in devising policies.
