Minister of State Engr Muhammad Baligh Ur
Rehman attended the prize distribution ceremony of “Shooting Competition
in the honor of police Shuhda” as a chief guest at Police College
Sihala arranged by National Bureau of Police at Sihala today.
Minister of State congratulated the Director General NPB (National
Police Bureau) Mr. Iqbal Mehmood for conducting this significant
competition among all the provinces of Pakistan. I feel honored to
attend this auspicious gathering to remember our martyrs of Police, said
the Minister. As we know that a martyr is not dead, he is alive and his
death is the life of the nation in itself so we should never forget our
martyrs and should always honor them with great respect. This is the
first step of honoring police’s martyrs and there is still room for
improvement, stated the minister. Further he added that such
competitions are not only momentous to honor our police officers but are
equally important to judge and measure the skills of our currently
serving police officers.
I would like to see enhancement of skills of our police officers,
through these competitions, said the minister. I would also like to
request all the provincial police training institutes to invite officers
from other provinces and train them in their respective training
institutes. There should be some quota dedicated to different provinces
for this purpose. Such trainings not only give a platform to share good
practices among provinces but also create a unique bond of friendship
and brotherhood among the jawaans, stated the minister. I salute all the
martyrs and currently serving police officers and jawaans who work day
and night for the safety of their citizens even in harsh conditions,
admired the Minister.
Minister of State said that the law and order situation is getting
better in our country and that because of the clear vision of Prime
Minister Nawaz Shareef and his visionary National Action Plan.
Monitoring of Madrassas, verification of SIMS, latest equipment for
police officers, registration of the criminals in jails, transferring
hard criminal to special jails, and training of our officers by the best
international trainers are just the few examples of our vision. So we
should never lose our hope and should always remain focused to counter
terrorism and extremism in our country. We should work in harmony and
create synergies among provinces, emphasized the Minister.
In the end Minister of State distributed the prizes among the winners.
He thanked the DG NPB and congratulated the officers who won prizes in
shooting competition. ICT Police took the trophy of best team in
shooting.
