PR NO.189 POLY CLINIC EXTENSION PROJECT AIMED TO BUILD A STATE-OF-THE-ART 1200 BEDS HOSPITAL DR. TARIQ FAZAL CHAUDHARY. Islamabad

Minister of State for Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD), Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that under the Polyclinic Extension project 1200 beds state-of-the-art hospital is proposed to be built where modern world class medical facilities would be available to common man. He stated this while chairing a meeting of steering committee on Polyclinic Extension Project.
Shortlisted engineering and design firms presented details of their proposed designs for the construction of hospital building during the meeting. The best design from among the proposed designs would be selected and final award of the contract will be done after completion of technical and financial assessment of the proposed designs according to the roles and procedures notified by the Government of Pakistan. The Minister of State directed the Project director to complete the process for design approval within minimum possible time so that actual construction work could be started. He said that very soon the earth breaking ceremony of the project will be held with Prime Minister as Chief Guest.
The Steering Committee was briefed that during first phase of the project new building is proposed to be built on recently acquired land of Argentine Park so that existing hospital can be shifted to new building. In the second phase new blocks will be constructed at the place of existing old building.
Secretary CA & DD Mr. Hasan Iqbal, Additional Secretary, ED Polyclinic, Project Director and officer from Pak PWD participated in the meeting.
