The newly
appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey, Mr. Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi,
along with his spouse and children and officers of Pakistan Embassy, their
families and students of Pakistan Embassy School, today visited the Mausoleum
of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk to pay homage to Turkey’s first president and the
great leader of its war of independence. As part of the official ceremony, he
laid a floral wreath on Ataturk’s tomb. Pakistan Embassy School students were
carrying Pakistan and Turkey flags, a gesture greatly appreciated by the
visitors to the Mausoleum, says a press

After wreath laying
ceremony, Ambassador Syrus Qazi recorded his remarks at the Guest Book of the
Mausoleum and wrote: “As Pakistan’s newly accredited Ambassador to Turkey, it
is a great honor to visit Anitkabir and pay my respects to ‘Ghazi Mustafa Kemal
Ataturk’ a soldier, statesman, reformer and founder of Republic of Turkey.
Turkey and Pakistan enjoy a friendship that is unique and unparalleled in
international relations. Friendship with Turkey is in Pakistan’s blood. As
Ambassador of Pakistan, I look forward to humbly contributing to this
relationship which is a sacred trust nurtured by our forefathers. Long Live Pakistan-Turkey Brotherhood.”
