Federal Minister for
Human Rights Mr. Mumtaz Ahmed Tarar and Secretary Ms. Rabiya Javeria Agha
strongly condemned the gross incident of ‘honor killing’ in Karachi, in which a
teenage couple were murdered through electric shocks.
The brutal and barbaric act
perpetrated against the teenage couple is not only against Human Rights but also questions the collective human
conscience across our nation and society and strong action needs to be taken
against the perpetrators of this terrible injustice.
The Ministry of Human Rights operates
a helpline at 1099 to assist I such cases of violence and torture, providing
legal and psychological counselling as well as referral systems.
