PR No. 179 ITF Manager Training Centres, Events visits PSB, meets Federal Minister Riaz Pirzada Islamabad

Manager Training Centres and Events International Tennis Federation (ITF) Mr. Frank Couraud visited Pakistan Sports Board and met with Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Wednesday.

 

The Federal Minister welcomed Mr. Frank Couraud and during the meeting matters relating to tennis came under discussion. President Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Salim Saifullah Khan was also present on the occasion.

 

Riaz Pirzada said that government of Pakistan and Pakistan Sports Board is grateful to ITF for revival of Davis Cup tie in Pakistan after 12 years.

 

The conduct of the Davis Cup tie with the support of ITF has left many fond memories in the hearts of the Tennis fraternity, he added.

 

The Federal Minister said that conduct of Davis Cup between Pakistan and Iran was highly appreciated by the diplomats and elite of the government besides national and foreign establishments in Islamabad.

 

He said Islamabad is a beautiful capital city and extremely well secured especially regarding holding of sports events.

 

Currently we are looking forward to the next tie to be held during September 2017 and expect even greater participation due to the interest generated after conduct of Davis Cup tie between Pakistan and Iran after long time.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Frank said that ITF is also focusing on to bring kids towards tennis and promoting tennis at junior level. He said that there should be centers in major cities of Pakistan for tennis activities and training.

 

He hoped that his visit to Pakistan would be productive and ensured that ITF would support for promotion of tennis in Pakistan.
