President Mamnoon Hussain has directed that best medical care should be extended to the two “solar kids” and emphasised thorough research to diagnose the disease and suggest its treatment.

The President said this while meeting the neuro-development disorder affected Balochi children (“Solar Kids”) Mr. Shoaib Ahmed and Mr. Abdul Rasheed along with their father at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday. State Minister for CADD Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Secretary CADD Hassan Iqbal and Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Prof. Javed Akram were also present on the occasion.

As a special gesture, President Mamnoon received the two “Solar Kids” at the Aiwan-e-Sadr and affectionately enquired about their health and well-being. The President caringly talked to the two children and presented gifts to them hoping that they will soon recover fully and live a normal life. President Mamnoon was briefed by the State Minister for CADD about the condition of the two children and their treatment process at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad.

The President directed that the children should be looked after well and underscored that Pakistani doctors should thoroughly research this disease and identify the causes to suggest an effective cure to rid the children of it. President Mamnoon noted with satisfaction that the doctors at PIMS were doing their best to treat the two children and advised that medical institutions in the developed countries should also be consulted to come out with concrete findings about this disease.
