The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Maj. Gen. ® Syed Shakeel Hussain said Pakistan has always been extending all out support to Sri Lanka including cooperation at multiple multilateral forums which Government of Sri Lanka has deeply appreciated at all levels, says a press release received here today from Sri Lanka.
HE Syed Shakeel Hussain said this while talking to the 11 member delegation of Pakistan National School of Public Policy delegation, which is currently visiting Sri Lanka on five-day tour. The delegation comprising senior officers of civil services of Pakistan is being led by Mr. Naeem Aslam, Dean of the Institution.
The High Commissioner said Pakistan and Sri Lanka have maintained close, cordial and mutually supportive relations since 1948. The relationship is broad-based and multifaceted covering diverse fields like diplomatic, political, commercial, defense, people to people contacts and cultural exchanges, he added.
The visit which started on 9th May 2016 aims to gain overview of the economic, domestic and foreign policies of Sri Lanka and to explore new spheres of mutual interest for enhancing mutual cooperation in diverse fields.
NationalSchool of Public Policy is a premier institution for the study of public policy, management and related research and analysis in Pakistan with an aim to improve the quality of pre and in- service training and education of all those engaged in public service.
Guided by the Board of Governors headed by the President of Pakistan, the institute is providing four-tier training and education to the public servants as well as building their capacity for undertaking tasks of policy formulation and implementation at tactical, operational and strategic levels.
The NSPP is also actively involved with the establishment of institutional linkages with reputed counterpart public policy institutions abroad. So far, the NSPP has singed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with China National School of Administration, Beijing, China, Public Administration Institute for Turkey & Middle East (TODAIE), Ankara, Turkey and RussianAcademy of Public Administration, (RAPA), Moscow, Russia.
During the visit, the delegation members will call on Minister for Public Administration and Management Hon. Ranjith Manduma Bandara, besides visiting Board of Investment, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ColomboPort, Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development, Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of Tooth), and Jinnah Hall Kandy.PREVIOUS NEXT
