Federal Minister for National Food security & Research, Mr. Sikander Hayat Khan Boson had a brief meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Bakhitbek Shabarbayev on 13th April at Minister’s office. In the meeting prospects about the upcoming OIC Ministers’ conference in Astana, were discussed, along with the Agriculture Ministers’ conference there would be first session of General Assembly of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) on 26-28 April 2016. Prime Minister has given approval of the Minister’s participation in economically important event. The Federal Minister in his meeting with the Kazak Ambassador discussed the prospects of the coming conference in which the Minister will attend the number of side meetings as well, as there are participants from 30 other states at the forum.  Although Pakistan has not joined the IOFS, but Kazakhstan is pursuing the matter and hence invited Pakistan to attend the first session. Minister in his meeting expressed hope that relations between the two countries would strengthen and he would meet with the Kazakhstan’s Agriculture Minister and discuss matters of mutual importance. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has supported the establishment of IOFS. In the said meeting it was resolved by the both sides that the important decisions would be taken and the upcoming OIC conference would not only be a powerful forum for Pakistan but will bring the two countries closer. The Minister thanked the government of Kazakhstan for extending the invitation to participate in the coming events.
