PR No. 37 Multan

President Mamnoon Hussain has said the Government is paying attention to all sectors including health and is introducing reforms in all fields.

The President said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Bakhtawar Amin Medical College and Hospital here in Multan on Thursday.

The President stated that the Government is committed to providing health care facilities to the people. He said that problems related to healthcare are too complex that no government can handle alone adding in this regard welfare institutions should assist the Government. President Mamnoon emphasised many diseases can be prevented by acting upon the principles of hygiene. “In this regard, welfare organisations and educational institutions should launch awareness campaigns in their areas particularly in far flung regions so that people are more aware to protect themselves from diseases” remarked the President.

President Mamnoon said that our education institutions can earn the status of centers of excellence through competent faculty and our universities should establish linkages with leading educational institutions at international level and solicit their support for training of teachers.

The President underlined that no country can progress unless half of the population becomes part of its workforce. President Mamnoon noted with appreciation that women are at the forefront to attain medical education and they should also pass on the benefits of their education to society. He further said that primary level education should be handed over to women as in this way parents who have reservations on mixed education would not hesitate to send their children to acquire education but in fact lady teachers would be in a better position to impart quality education to small children.

Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana, Federal Minister for National Food Security Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan and Member Board of Governors Inzamam-ul-Haq were also present during the inaugural ceremony.
