“1st May is observed as Labor Day every year to pay tribute to workers worldwide. Workforce is extremely significant for the socio-economic development of any country. The committed, hardworking and skilled Pakistanis serve as the backbone of our national progress and development. I regard workers as a special group making significant contributions towards nation building and achieving sustained economic growth for Pakistan.
Our Government remains committed to the goal of achieving growth, economic expansion, job creation and a higher standard of living for all workers and their families. We believe in granting labors their due social and economic status as only prosperous and satisfied workforce can enable Pakistan to participate and compete in today’s highly competitive globalized market economy.
Our government is pursuing the agenda of economic revival including mega infrastructure projects of road networks, motorways and power generation projects. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a huge project which will transform the lives of million people in the region. All these projects and others can only be completed with the help of dedicated workforce.
On this day, I reaffirm the Government’s commitment to safeguarding the dignity and status of labors. I also extend glowing tributes to the struggle of labors and urge them to continue playing their positive role in taking Pakistan forward on its path of peace and prosperity.”
