President Mamnoon Hussain said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, all institutions are on the same page regarding the problems this country faces and unanimously agree that these problems are being dealt with through a joint strategy, which will make democracy even more stable.

The President said this while addressing the Army officials undergoing training at the Command and Staff College, Quetta Cantonment at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Friday. The Director General Military Training Major General Ali Abbas Haider was also present.

The President said that the overall performance of the country has been negatively affected due to past conditions and institutions not working within their own purview. President Mamnoon Hussain further said that consequently institutions have become weak and the nation’s confidence towards the government has weakened nevertheless currently the situation is different and the country’s conditions have improved.

The President said that due to consensus of all stakeholders, the security and economy of the country is improving therefore to attain the rightful place in the international community a strong economy is essential and the economy has attained precedence over politics. President Mamnoon Hussain said for the revival of the national economy, the China Pakistan Economic Corridor is an extraordinary event of our time, which is being worked on successfully and there are no hurdles in its path. The President further said that Pakistanand its government are working unanimously in this regard.

President Mamnoon Hussain said that the nation is united in the fight to eliminate terrorism, which has improved the reputation of the country. The President added that this has developed harmony among national institutions and such consensus will keep improving with time. President Mamnoon Hussain said that the Zarb-e-Azb operation will continue till elimination of the last terrorist. The President noted that The National Action Plan has the consensus of the whole nation through which the menace of terrorism will be cleansed from this country and this initiative is on the track to successfully achieving its objectives.

President Mamnoon Hussain said tribal areas have been severely affected by terrorism and a committee is working to introduce reforms, which will bring their issues to the forefront, and approval of the reforms will also be taken from Parliament. The President said that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan and solution of the region’s problems are connected to the solution of the Kashmir issue. President Mamnoon Hussain further said that negotiations cannot progress until the people of Kashmir get the right to self-determination.

The President said that Pakistan has successfully played a key role in improving relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran while Turkey has also been involved in these efforts. President Mamnoon Hussain hoped that Pakistan will successfully be able to ameliorate such conflicts. The President also answered questions asked by the trainee officers.
