President Mamnoon Hussain said that to provide timely and quick justice to the people of Pakistan, relevant departments and various offices of the Ombudsman have been given high importance and reforms are necessary in this regard.

The President said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Islamabad and Lahore Regional Offices of Federal Insurance Ombudsman at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad. The Federal Insurance Ombudsman Raeesuddin Paracha and various senior officials were also present on the occasion.

President Mamnoon Hussain said the provision of timely and quick justice is one of the most important priorities of the government. The President further said that the primary purpose of insurance is to protect the personal and collective property of the people and secure their future but often people find it difficult to retrieve their insurance compensation at its maturity. President Mamnoon Hussain noted that many a times some complex issues are faced by people while acquiring their amounts which creates difficulty in the business and life of the people. In this regard, the institution of the Federal Insurance Ombudsman is a ray of hope.

The President said that in a short span of time, the performance of the Insurance Ombudsman has been highly satisfactory and added that its offices should be established in provincial capitals so that the maximum number of people can benefit from it. President Mamnoon Hussain highlighted that by establishing regional offices, people can get justice at their doorsteps. The President advised that the establishment of insurance branch offices should also be considered in this respect. President Mamnoon Hussain stated that the government needs to take necessary measures to provide justice to people living in every part of the country and create public awareness regarding the Federal Insurance Ombudsman’s office.

The President said that the Federal Insurance Ombudsman can play an important role in this regard so that people are aware of the procedures and regulations of the Insurance Ombudsman’s office and that they are not faced with any difficulties. President Mamnoon Hussain noted that the insurance companies that do not follow the laws and regulations should not be allowed to operate. The President advised the government officials that they should carry out their responsibilities with honesty and treat these responsibilities like they would treat their faith.

President Mamnoon Hussain lauded the services of the Federal Insurance Ombudsman Raeesuddin Paracha and hoped that he would continue to serve with the same excellence in the future. The President also distributed compensation cheques, claimed from insurance companies, to insurance claimants as a result of the decisions of the Insurance Ombudsman on the occasion.
