PR No.23 Egyptian Defence Delegation Calls On Secretary Defence Islamabad: April 4, 2016

An Egyptian defence delegation led by Brig General Khalid Abdel-Waris Mohamed, Director General of Foreign Military Cooperation of Ministry of Defence Egypt called on Secretary Defence Lt General (Retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak here in his office in Rawalpindi.

Secretary Defence highlighted the role of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in the war on terror and stressed International community especially the Muslim Ummah to play their active role to root out the menace of terrorism and extremism.

Secretary Defence lauded the holding of 10thPak-Egypt Military Cooperation Committee (MCC) meeting and hoped that the meeting would be fruitful for both the countries. He underlined the need for enhancing military training and partnership in diverse field of defence sector. He also stressed on the reciprocal visits by delegation from Armed Forces of both the countries “this exchange of visits will help to look at new avenues of mutual defence cooperation and collaboration” he added.

Prior to holding of the call on with Secretary Defence an extensive meeting took place between the delegates of Pak-Egypt MCC forum, the Egyptian side the meeting was led by Brig Gen Khalid Abdel-Waris Mohamed, whereas Rear Admiral Mukhtar Khan led Pakistan side.

Both side agreed to the capacity building of the Armed Forces, sharing of information and enhanced cooperation in strategic level to counter terrorism and radicalism and also agreed to under take joint venture/collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
