Mr. Zafarullah Khan who has been appointed as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on law and justice has assumed his charge in the Ministry today. It is to be noted that Mr. Zafarullah Khan will hold the status of Minister of State .

Before the assumption in ministry of law and Justice, Mr Zafarulah Khan was serving as Minister of state/ Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Human Rights. During his stay in Ministry of Human Rights, Mr Zafarullah Khan took initiatives to ensure the implementation of human rights laws in letter and spirit and expedited the process of legislation for the protection of women, children and the other vulnerable section of the society.

After taking charge as SAPM on law and Justice, Zafarullah Khan visited all the departments of the ministry and met the employees and asked them to work diligently and honestly.

SAPM laid emphasis on the expediting the process of law reforms that it is the utmost priority of the ministry to bring legislation of laws in conformity with the Islamic injunctions and the manifesto of PML (N) and the vision of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for quick dispensation of justice to the needy and poor and eliminate the social evils from the society. He said that the government is committed to materialize it through bringing law reforms.

Moreover, Mr. Zafarullah Khan is the eminent Barrister and scholar who holds Barrister-at-Law from Lincoln’s Inn, London, United Kingdom . Mr. Zafarullah Khan is a copious writer who wrote books on law, Human Rights and Sufism. He also served as Secretary to the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights from October 2013 to November 2014 and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister/Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, and Economic Affairs.

Mr. Zafarullah Khan has also attended many specialist courses including: Negotiations on Financial Transactions, United Nations Institute of Training and Research ; Alternate Dispute Resolution, United Nations Institute of Training and Research; International Labour Standards Course for Judges and Lawyers, at International Training Centre, Turin, Italy ; Private International Law, The Hague Academy of International Law, Netherlands Globalization’, Oxford University, UK.
