Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) and Foundation for Advancement of Medical Science (FAMS) have signed a Record Note to provide scholarships to deserving and bright students of OPF educational institutions to continue their studies in public sector Medical Colleges.

Managing Director, OPF, Habib Ur Rehman Gilani and Founder Chairman of FAMS, Dr. Aamir Ayub signed the Note at OPF Head Office. FAMAS is a welfare organization led by British Pakistani Dr. Umer Ayub working for welfare of medical students.

Talking on this occasion, Managing Director, OPF, Habib Ur Rehman Gilani thanked Dr. Aamir Ayub for this laudable initiative and said that the present government and OPF Board of Governors are agreed that overseas Pakistanis are the real assets of Pakistan. He said that OPF is not only working for welfare of Pakistani expatriates but also taking steps to welcome welfare organizations of overseas Pakistanis to work in Pakistan.

Dr. Aamir Ayub informed that eleven years back, with collaboration of some British Pakistani doctors he had established Foundation for Advancement of Medical Science (FAMS) with the aim to provide assistance to deserving and intelligent Pakistani students of medical science. He further informed that with the help of FAMS, presently bright and deserving students are getting medical education in fourteen medical colleges of Pakistan. He said that with the collaboration of OPF he wanted to expand working of his organization throughout Pakistan. Dr. Aamir appreciated the welfare activities of OPF and said that welfare organizations of overseas Pakistanis can be brought into Pakistan to deliver across the country.

Director General, Human Resource and Administration, Sajid Mehmood Qazi was also present on this occasion.
