PR No.286 Call On Adviser To The Prime Minister On Foreign Affairs By Special Envoy Of The President Of Maldives Islamabad

Ms. Aishath Azima Shakoor, Special Envoy of the President of Maldives called on the Adviser to the Prime Minster on Foreign Affairs today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ms. Shakoor is Minister at President’s Office.

In the meeting, the Adviser noted that relations between Pakistan and Maldives are marked by understanding, warmth and commonality of interests.

The Special Envoy expressed her deep sympathy and condolences for the deceased and bereaved families of the Lahore blast. She further added that Maldives stands with Pakistan in this hour of grief. The Adviser conveyed the gratitude of Pakistan leadership for the messages of sympathy and condolences received from the President of Maldives. She appreciated the support Pakistan has been extending to her country at regional and international fora.

The Adviser and Special Envoy expressed satisfaction over the growth in bilateral relations and agreed to further increase the momentum through high level interactions. They also discussed other issues of mutual interest and regional cooperation.

The Adviser wished peace and prosperity for the brotherly people of the Maldives.
