Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training, Egr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman attended the ranking ceremony at Quaid-e-Azam University today.

Minister of State congratulated the administration of Quaid-e-Azam University on securing the first rank in university rankings. He said its not an easy thing to secure a top position, a lot of hard work, vision, devotion is required for that.

This is not the first time that QAU has been awarded with some rank/position, it has also been ranked number one by HEC since 2007 and by QS Asian University Ranking at position 115 in the year 2015. Data based on publications and citations are central to international university rankings. University rankings are becoming an increasingly influential factor in a diverse range of decisions – from students choosing a university, to institutions selecting partners, from governments setting immigration policy, to scholarship providers short listing applicants.

15000 research papers have been published in the last five years. it is producing 100 Ph.Ds every year. Furthermore several faculty members have research projects being funded by International and National agencies. Several faculty members have won awards including Civil by Government of Pakistan, HEC, Pakistan Academy of Sciences, TWAS, ISESCO, Al-Khwarizmi.

In the end, Minister of State again congratulated the university and hoped to see it during even better in future.
