PR No.164 Pakistanis In Bahrain Unite Behind New Ambassador Islamabad

Pakistani community in Bahrain has warmly welcomed the decision by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to appoint distinguished gulf based Pakistani, Javed Malik as Pakistan’s new Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain. In an unprecedented show of unity and solidarity Pakistanis from different groups, factions and political parties joined together to welcome Ambassador Javed Malik as he assumed his charge as Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain. An impressive ceremony was organized at a prestigious venue in Bahrain which was attended by noted and leading community figures and officials of Pakistan Embassy. Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Javed Malik thanked the community for a warm welcome and said “under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif it will remain my sincere effort to serve the community, address their problems as well as work towards expanding Pakistan’s diplomatic, economic, trade and strategic relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain”. He said that Pakistan has long standing ties with the Kingdom of Bahrain and there is tremendous scope to further expand our bilateral relations. He said that overseas Pakistanis living in the Gulf region are an asset for Pakistan and are playing a very positive role in supporting Pakistan’s economy through their remittances, and the government of Pakistan will always do it sbest to facilitate them in every possible way. He said that Pakistan attaches a lot of importance to its ties with the stability and progress of Gulf countries is vital for Pakistan and regional stability. The Pakistan community expressed their full confidence in Javed Malik as their Ambassador and assured him of all possible support and cooperation. Those present included community notables like Malik Usman, Sajid Sheikh, Chaudhary Akram, Malik Nadeem, Shahzad Malik, A.D Chaudhary as well as senior officials from Pakistan Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Earlier upon his arrival at Bahrain Airport, Ambassador Javed Malik was welcomed by a large number of Pakistanis as an expression of happiness at Prime Minister’s decision to appoint someone from within the Gulf based Pakistanis as an Ambassador of Pakistan, says a press release received here today from Bahrain.
