PR No.209 “We Want To Take Along Provinces To Implement Green Pakistan Project And Will Create Climate Change Council”, Said By Federal Minister For Climate Change, Mr. Zahid hamid Islamabad: March 24, 2016

A meeting comprising of all representatives of federating units on “Green Pakistan Project “launched by Prime Minister was convened by Federal Minister for Climate Change, Mr. Zahid Hamid in Ministry of Climates Change. The participants included provincial secretaries and representatives of National Highway Authority, Capital Development Authority.

“Climate Change is beyond border and this project aims at revival of forest sector and sustaining and conservation of wild life, said by Federal Minister for Climate Change.

“The National forest Policy 2015 includes that all developmental projects must include adequate budget for plantation. This project should be implemented in keeping the province on board. After the 18th amendment, forestry is provincial subjects but federal would provide full support”, highlighted by Federal Minister in the meeting.

“We need to prepare strong and comprehensive projects to tap 100 billion dollars from Green Climate Fund. This requires collective efforts and joined mechanisms to save the nation from Climate Change”, told by the federal Minister for Climate Change.

The representatives from all federating units showed their cooperation and agreed to “Green Pakistan Project”. Some representatives also showed their concerns regarding financial constraints. They agreed to extend their full support in order to implement this project.
