PR No.204 Pakistan Day Celebrated In Hong Kong Sar Islamabad: March 23, 2016

The Pakistan Day was celebrated with national fervor and enthusiasm here at the premises of the Pakistan Association of Hong Kong, in a simple but impressive ceremony attended by a large number, of members of Pakistani community.

The function commenced with hoisting of the National Flag by the Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong, Mr. Ghufran Memon to the accompaniment of national anthem. He read out messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on this auspicious occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General highlighted the significance of Pakistan Day and said that like every year, today we pledge to put our hearts and souls together to make Pakistan a stronger and more stable nation on the pattern of a resolve made by our forefathers on this Day at Manto Park Lahore in 1940.

Mr. Memon said that there was a need to work harder and make collective efforts to transform Pakistan into a modern, progressive and tolerant society as envisaged by father of the nation Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his colleagues. He said that role of Pakistani Diaspora abroad is very vital in this regard.

The Consul General also congratulated the Pakistani community on Pakistan day. Special prayers were offered for the prosperity and well being of the homeland.
