The Embassy of Pakistan Berlin organized a flag hoisting ceremony this morning, to mark 76th anniversary of Pakistan Resolution, adopted on 23rd March 1940. In a solemn ceremony attended by a large number of Pakistani community, business representatives, members of German-Pakistan Forum and local media, glowing tributes were paid to the great leadership that led millions of Muslims towards realization of their dream of a separate homeland, says a press release received here today from Berlin, Germany.

Ambassador Jauhar Saleem read out the message of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. In his remarks, he felicitated the community on this auspicious occasion. He paid tributes to those soldiers and civilians who laid down their lives in the course of war on terror, to give a better and safer future to our coming generations. He said that there was a marked improvement in the security situation with the number of terrorist incidents declined by almost 80%. He expressed the resolve that the Pakistani nation will keep pursuing the dream of a modern, democratic and progressive Pakistan, as envisioned by the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the great national poet and thinker, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Mentioning the achievements made by Pakistan over the last few years in the fields of democracy, security, law and order, economy and investment, culture and tourism, he added that these were not small achievements by any standards and were a clear indication that Pakistani nation had left behind the most difficult chapter of its history. Today, Pakistan was geared for a better future, marked by progress and prosperity.

Earlier, Mr. Sajjad Haider Khan read out the messages of the President of Pakistan. The speeches were followed by a tea reception.
