Another Pakistan Thalassemia Centre would be established in Balochistan to provide treatment facilities to poor patients of Thalassemia, Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh said on Tuesday. Briefing the ambassador of Mauritius in Pakistan Yusuf Elahee about the working of Pakistan Thalassemia Centre here he said PBM has provided financial assistance to 1500 Thalassemia patients in last three years. Barrister Abid Waheed conveyed that PBM was taking concrete steps to materialize the dream of Prime Minister of Pakistan for providing maximum relief to our poor country-fellows. Besides all the pro-poor services of PBM, to establish a Thalassemia & Blood Disease Treatment Center for poor people was well needed in present circumstances to combat the hazardous disease of thalassemia. To cater the Thalassemia patients in Pakistan especially AJK, Northern Areas and Gilgit-Baltistan, PBM has established State of the Art Thalassemia Centres in Islamabad and Chakwal where PBM is providing free of charge blood transfusion services and medicines to the needy and deserving patients.

Mauritius Ambassador congratulated the PBM for taking care of thalassemia patients. He assured his country’s cooperation to PBM in serving poor and needy humanity.
