Newly elected Speaker of Baluchistan Assembly, Ms. Rahila Durrani paid a courtesy call on Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here Tuesday.
The Minister felicitated her on being unanimously elected as the first ever woman speaker of the Balochistan Assembly saying it was indeed a great honour and a tribute to her services for the country and the province.
The Speaker Baluchistan Assembly said she had a vision to serve the people of Baluchistan and also contribute to the betterment of the country. All along her political career, especially as parliamentarian, she had done all she could for welfare of the people of Pakistan.
Ms. Rahila Durrani said that people of Baluchistan had great respect and regard for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as they sincerely believed that under the PML-N leadership, visible economic progress had been achieved in the province. She said it would be her priority to further strengthen the efforts aimed at welfare of the people.
Minister Dar appreciated Ms. Rahila Durrani’s resolve for well being of the people of Baluchistan and said the federal government would keep up its efforts and contribute as much as it can for development in the province.
The Baluchistan Assembly Speaker thanked the Minister for receiving her for a meeting.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Finance were present in the meeting.
