Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman called on Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation; Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan on Friday here in Islamabad. On this occasion, Minister for Works Gilgit-Baltistan Dr. Iqbal and officials of Aviation were also present. In the meeting, it was mutually decided that PIA will collaborate with Tourism department of GB in order to promote the tourism in northern areas. Sardar Mehtab Ahmad said that Pakistan is well-known for its beautiful Northern areas which can be truly called a visitor’s paradise and Gilgit-Baltistan is not only known for its beauty but also for a number of historic places which are worth-visiting. Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation said that special flights of PIA will be started soon for Gilgit and Sakardu which will help the tourism in the northern areas. These special flights will be utilized as an icon not only to strength the economy of the country but also to present the soft and positive image of Pakistan as they will be decorated with different literary and cultural artifacts of Pakistan. He stressed that all possible measures will be taken to promote tourism activities in hilly areas; he added. Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman praised the different reforms devised by Sardar Methab Ahmad Khan and also thanked him for collaborating with tourism department for promoting tourism activities in Gilgit-Baltistan.
