PR No.159 Senate Unanimously Congratulates Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy Through Resolution Islamabad: March 18, 2016

The Senate of Pakistan unanimously passed a Resolution No. 249 on 02.03.2016, moved by Senator Nasreen Jalil.

Following is the text of the said Resolution:

“This House offers its heartiest congratulations to Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy for brining Lawrence to Pakistan. She has won Oscar Award for the second time for her film “A Girl in the River”. She has highlighted the issue of honour killing which has created awareness in society and the determination to deter such killings. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has made the whole national proud. The House wishes her the best in her future endeavors. We all also salute all those brave women rights activists of political parties, civil society issues, rights and development by highlighting the causes and solutions thereof.”
