President Mamnoon Hussain said that Pakistan has suffered heavily due to the conflict in Afghanistan and there is a need to undertake rehabilitation activities on a large scale to improve the situation in Pakistan. In this regard the efforts of the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) and Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) are commendable.

The President said this while talking to a delegation of IFRC headed by Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Dr. Saeed Elahi called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday. The delegation comprised of representatives from ten countries including America, United Kingdom, Germany, Norway and Iran.

The President admired the humanitarian and noble work of IFRC and PRCS in the service of the needy people and welcomed cooperation from the friendly countries and IFRC in different welfare projects in Pakistan. The President assured of his fullest cooperation in enabling the IFRC and PRCS in their cause to help the suffering people in the country.

On the occasion, Chairman PRCS Dr. Saeed Elahi and foreign representatives apprised the President about their ongoing welfare activities in Pakistan and future initiatives.
