PR No.28 Country Director, Unfpa Calls On Finance Minister Islamabad: March 3, 2016

The newly appointed Country Director, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Dr. Hassan Mohtashami, accompanied by UN Resident Representative, Mr. Neil Buhne, paid a courtesy call on Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Thursday.

The Finance Minister welcomed the UNFPA senior official to Pakistan and assured him of all possible cooperation and support for undertaking his official obligations.

Dr. Hassan Mohtashami on this occasion praised the economic achievement of the government, specially the efforts in the realm of social protection. He shared with the Minister his experience in the field of population welfare and added the UNFPA was prepared to extend all possible support to Pakistan for population welfare programmes. Dr. Hassan thanked the Finance Minister for taking time out of his busy schedule to receive him for the meeting.

Senior officials of the Finance Division and EAD attended the meeting.
