Ambassador Jauhar Saleem made a courtesy call on Prof. Dr. Norbert Lammert, President of the German Bundestag (Lower House of the Parliament) yesterday. The Ambassador briefed the German dignitary about Pakistan’s positive role in regional peace and stability, with particular reference to the Prime Minister’s vision of peaceful neighbourhood. On bilateral relations, he shared with the President of Bundestag different proposals for further enhancing the existing relations in a verity of fields.

Prof Dr. Lammert fondly recalled his visit to Pakistan in April 2014 and remarked that he was keenly awaiting the visit of the Speaker, National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq this summer, to further strengthen the cooperation and understanding between the two legislatures. He assured the Ambassador of the support of the German government in his endeavours to explore fresh avenues for further expansion of bilateral relations.
