PR No.16 Islamabad Will Be Made A Role Model City: Prime Minister Islamabad

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz has said that plans and efforts are underway to make Islamabad a true model city.

The prime Minister said this while interacting with the Federal Capital’s elected representatives of Local Bodies here at PM’s House Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister said that the city deserves to be developed for which adequate funds have already been allocated and asked the elected members to join hands for the betterment of the city. Provision of clean drinking water; enlarging the health facilities; renovating and drastically improving the standard of education in schools; drainage and sanitation of urban and rural areas of the Capital are the targets to be achieved, added the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister emphasized on the need for proactively implementing the developmental projects and advised the elected representatives of the capital to play their due role in the development of the city. The people of Islamabad have reposed their trust in you and it is our collective responsibility to come up to their expectations, stressed the Prime Minister.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister mentioned that speedy work has been ensured on building motorways, installing power projects, and projects under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Motorways and all other such infrastructural projects are our national assets. We want to produce cheaper and affordable electricity to mitigate the daunting issue of power shortage in the country, said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister assured the elected representatives of all out support of the government in developing Islamabad city on modern lines.

The elected representatives thanked the Prime Minister and expressed the confidence that under his patronage a lot of developmental work has already been initiated in Islamabad and the city has witnessed a positive change after decades.

Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Information, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Minister of State for CADD, DR Asif Kirmani SAPM, Malik Abrar Ahmad MNA and other senior officials of the government were present during the meeting.
