President Mamnoon Hussain has said that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is rendering commendable services by assisting the marginalized sections of the country to enable them to come out of cycle of poverty.

The president said this in a meeting with Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadar, Islamabad on Thursday.

The President noted with appreciation that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is working in the field of social protection including healthcare, education, rehabilitation and women empowerment irrespective of their religion, age, gender, caste, creed or political affiliation, enabling them to lead an honorable life in the society. He said that no country can progress without taming the specter of poverty noting that alleviating poverty from the country is a daunting task and emphasized that the Government is committed to overcome it with the collaboration of institutions like Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.

The President urged the philanthropists all over the country to come forward and contribute their share towards this noble cause by providing financial assistance to the poor.

Managing Director Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh briefed the President on matters relating to Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.
