Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman steering committee on Prime Minister Sustainable development goals Mr. Sheikh Aftab has said that government is committed to provide equal development opportunities to all the districts of Pakistan. The minister was chairing a high level meeting of steering committee on PM Sustainable development goals. The Minister was briefed on status of various development schemes for the year 2016-2017. The Minister directed the concerned authorities to work at pace complete the ongoing projects before the deadlines. The Minister expressed satisfaction on development work on various schemes. The meeting reviewed the allocation of funds to all constituencies. The committee also approved Rs. 500 million for DG Khan and, also gave relaxation to some special schemes in Gujranwala region. The Minister has said that the schemes in Punjab will have double impact as the provincial government of Punjab is equally contributing in various schemes across Punjab. The Minister has expressed hope that the development schemes for the next financial year will be given more funds and will be completed much earlier. The meeting was also attended by MNA Capt. (Retd.) Safdar, Senator Saood Majeed, Cabinet Secretary and senior officials of the concerned departments.
