Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Sajid Hussain Turi visited Workers Welfare Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Peshawar. Minister was briefed about various ongoing projects and future plans for welfare of workers and their children and families. Sajid Hussain Turi in his opening remarks expressed, “Ministry for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development strongly reiterates its commitment to improve the lives of workers through welfare, better residential flats, better family health and standard education for their children.” Conditions, upgradation and opening of Working Folks Grammer Schools, vocational centers and establishment of dispensaries in various labour colonies across the province especially in Newly Merged Districts. Mr. Sajid Hussain Turi listened to the problems of labours working in private industries and mines and assured them that their grievances shall be addressed on priority. He further said that Pakistan Peoples Party encourages Labour unions for their empowerment so they could raise their rights and demand their due rights under the Constitution of Pakistan and International Labour Organisation. Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari cordialy desires that every labour could live in his own residence and their children can receive standard education and their families could be provided with better health facilities. Federal Minister directed, “The labor colonies under construction should be completed soon so that the problems of accommodation of the workers are solved". The purpose of establishing Working Folks Schools is to provide quality education to the children of workers directing any further delay in giving scholarships to children of labours will not be tolerated. Federal Minister Sajid Hussain Turi also visited the exhibition arranged by Workers Welfare Board's Vocational Centres where he appreciated the women for their work. He said that for progressive Pakistan we must empower women, as it is important to provide them with good education and employment opportunities. *-*-*-*-*-*-*
