President Mamnoon Hussain has stressed that concerted efforts be made to make the ports more efficient to facilitate the country exports and imports.

The President said this while talking to Senator Kamran Michael, Minister for Ports and Shipping, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on 14th January, 2016.

The President emphasized that the Karachi Ports operations should ensure prompt and safe handling of the export and import items and in this regard the facilities be upgraded to meet the modern requirements.

Senator Kamran Michael, Minister for Ports and Shipping apprised the President about matters relating to Ports at Bin Qasim, Karachi and Gwadar. Senator Kamran Michael also briefed President Mamnoon Hussain about the development of Deep Sea Water Port at Karachi which will boost the country’s trade.

Senator Kamran Michael further apprised the President of various steps being undertaken by the government for the welfare and uplift of the minority communities in the country.
