PR No. 117 Delegation Of Agriculturists From Balochistan Calls On The PM Islamabad

A delegation of agriculturists from Balochistan called on the Prime Minister at PM House, Islamabad today. Mr Sikandar Hayat Bosan, Minister for National Food Security & Research was present during the meeting.

Members of the delegation apprised the Prime Minister on problems and issues related to the agriculture sector in the Province. The delegation included Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, Senator Muhammad Usman Khan Kakar, Senator Sardar Azam Musakhel, Senator Mir Kabir M Shahi, Senator Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani, Senator Saee ul Hassan Mandokhel, Senator Dawood Achakzai, Senator DR Jahanzeb Jamaldindi, Senator Hafiz Hamdullah and Zamindaars of the Province.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that the Province of Balochistan is close to his heart and he is taking keen interest to resolve all the issues of the Province. The Prime Minister directed the Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Mr. Sikandar Hayat Bosan to meet Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri at the earliest for addressing the issues and concerns of the agriculturists of Balochistan. ‘Issues that need to be addressed at the Provincial level should be resolved in consultation with the Provincial Government while those pertaining to the Federal Government should be brought to his notice for their solution at the earliest’, added the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister said to the visiting delegates that the Federal Government is well aware of the fact that agriculture is the lifeline of the country and majority of the people are dependent on this sector for a living. The agriculture sector has been rightly accorded top most priority by the present government as Pakistan’s economy is agriculture-based, assured the Prime Minister.
