PR No.171 PRIME MINISTER MUHAMMAD NAWAZ SHARIF MEETING WITH H.E MRS. ERNA SOLBERG PRIME MINISTER OF NORWAY NEW YORK: January 19, 2017

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan greatly values its relations with Norway. I fondly recall my productive visit to Norway in July 2015, followed by our subsequent meeting in New York on the sidelines of General Assembly session in September 2015”, PM added.

PM said that there has been regular exchange of high level visits since then between the two sides. We need to sustain this momentum of regular interaction at high level. I take this opportunity to invite you to Pakistan at your convenience

PM apprised the Norwegian premier that my Government is focused on trade and economic cooperation, rather than aid. Norway has been a strong partner for investment, trade and development cooperation with Pakistan.

The Norwegian Prime Minister talked of already existing investments of Norway in Pakistan and expressed the desire to harness the trade potential in Pakistan to the fullest.

Prime Minister Erna Solberg further appreciated the economic revival of Pakistan through government’s business friendly policies which have improved the investment atmosphere in the country.
