PR No. 93 Meeting Of Chairperson Pmyp With Mr. Waqar Ahmed, Head Of Corporate Affairs, Nestle Pakistan Islamabad

Mr. Waqar Ahmed, Head of Corporate Affairs, Nestle Pakistan called on Ms Leila Khan, Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, in order to apprise her of the potential of Nestle’s corporate alliance with National Bank of Pakistan under Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme to provide business loans to farmers in the dairy farming sector.

Mr. Waqar Ahmed briefed the Chairperson that so far Nestle has forwarded to NBP 24 business loan applications worth Rs. 44 Million for approval. Moreover, 391 other such applications of the potential entrepreneurs in dairy farming are under processing with Nestle, which will be forwarded to NBP for approval after due diligence. He expressed satisfaction over this remarkable initiative of the PML-N government for the promotion of entrepreneurship culture in the country, and assured the Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Programme of his company’s maximum support in effective implementation of the scheme for the socio-economic development of the country.

Ms. Leila Khan welcomed the participation of Nestle, one of the world’s largest food companies, and becoming a partner in Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme for mitigating unemployment and poverty in the country. She appreciated the role Nestle has played in reaching out to more and more farmers through its value chain, and helping most capable farmers for developing their dairy sector business.
