President Mamnoon Hussain has said that officers of Pakistan Administrative Service should discharge their national responsibilities as servants of the people and under no circumstances indulge in corrupt practices.

The President said this while talking to a delegation of probationary officers of Pakistan Administrative Service which called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Wednesday.

The President said that it is the responsibility of the civil service officers that they perform their duties effectively and discourage corruption and do not succumb to any unlawful order. The President stated that the process of progress got halted due to misgovernance in the past decades but now the situation is gradually improving. The President called for judicious utilization of government resources and for delivery of services to the people at their doorstep.

President Mamnoon Hussain said that officers of administrative service are the backbone of government machinery. “The purpose of training being is to equip you to resolve the problems of the people and always uphold the integrity, security and stability of your country”, remarked the President. The President noted with appreciation that out of 48 probationary officers ten belonged to Balochistan and presence of women in trainee officers is also a positive development. President Mamnoon said that progress in Balochistan is the priority of the federal government adding that the government is working on projects to provide maximum facilities to the people of the province.

The President hoped that in line with contemporary requirements probationary officers would play an important role in comprehending and resolving the problems being faced by the public. The President said that better performance of Pakistan Administrative Service officers is a guarantee for success of any government adding that he is hopeful that probationary officers will overcome the challenges and serve the people and the country.
