PR No. 76 High Commissioner To Inaugurate Machine Readable Passport (Mrp) Service At Glasgow Islamabad

H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK, will formally inaugurate Machine Readable Passport (MRP) service at Glasgow Consulate of Pakistan on 13 January 2016. This brings the completion of setting up MRP service at all the four Consulates of Pakistan, i.e. Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford, and Glasgow. During the last one year, concerted efforts were made in this regard which have now materialized, says a press release received from London High Commission here today.

The provision of MRP service is in continuation of the on-going efforts of the High Commission and its Consulates to facilitate the community through improved Consular Services. The start of the service will meet the longstanding demand of the Pakistani community in Scotland. The service will significantly reduce waiting time and long queues at the Consulate.

During his visit to Scotland from 12-14 January 2016, the High Commissioner will also interact with the Members of Scottish Parliament (MSPs), British Pakistani Councilors, community and business leaders, and professionals. He will also visit the Scottish Parliament and meet with cross party group on Middle East and South Asia there.
